My name is Eunice Joe (Tla-ah-shuks). I am Nuu-chah-nulth from the Tseshaht First Nation. My lineage stems from the Tseshaht, Huu-ay-aht and Squamish Nations. My parents are Judy Joe (Dick) and (late) Herbie Joe. My Maternal Grandparents are Thomas Dick from Tseshaht and Veronica Dick (Guss) from Squamish.  My Paternal Grandparents are Wilson Joe from Huu-ay-aht and Bella Joe (Watts) from Tseshaht.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in First Nations Studies at Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina Unviersity-College). I am currently working for the First Nations Health Authority as the Regional Health Liaison for Vancouver Island. I’ve previously worked for Inter Tribal Health Authority, and Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council in various capacities. I bring with me a passion for working with First Nations People and working across cultures. I approach my work from a place of respect that is grounded in traditional teachings of “Hishuk ish Tsawalk: everything is one and all is connected”.

I began a 4 year term as Tseshaht First Nation Council Member in May 2012.  I am honored to bring my education and experience to our Nation working together towards a healthy, vibrant and self-sustaining community that is grounded in our traditional beliefs and values.
